#TBT: Florida and the Bahamas

Happy Thursday guys!

Today is #ThrowBackThursday and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for you to catch up with what I've been up to before starting this blog.

In January this year I went on one of the most amazing trips of my life.
It all started back in October 2014 when a really good friend of mine and I were sitting in rainy Cambridge scrolling through our Instagram feeds as we came across this adorable photo of a little piggy swimming in the ocean in the Bahamas. We immediately googled the place and the next day our tickets were all booked.
We decided to first go on a little road trip through Florida and then fly to the Bahamas for a week.
We landed in Orlando and drove to St. Petersburg where we saw this beautiful pelican. Our next stop was Fort Myers:

Fort Myers really is one of the most beautiful places in this world that I know. We were just enjoying the breathtaking sunset when we spotted two dolphins in the water.
After relaxing on the beach we continued our road trip and went to the Everglades.

I know that going on one of those swamp tours is such a touristy thing to do but it was really amazing and totally worth-seeing! I mean, just look at this cute baby gator :D
We also went to Miami for a couple of days and then we finally flew to Nassau in the Bahamas. There, we discovered this hidden Yoga Retreat where we ended up going to every single day.

It was so relaxing and peaceful there. Just the perfect spot to escape from the real world and do yoga. One day I will definitely go back there for a longer period of time. I will also leave a link to the retreat down below!
From Nassau we went on a tiny, sketchy propeller plane and flew to Staniel Cay, a really small island in the Exumas.

Staniel Cay is the closest you can get to the lonely island the swimming piggies are on. We stayed in a cute little resort and explored the island in our private golf cart. Except for this one car you can see in the photo, golf carts and bikes were the only form of transportation there.
I will upload a second blog post soon about the day we finally went to see the piggies. The little piglets were so cute, they totally deserve their own blog post!

Thanks so much for reading this post! I really hope you enjoyed it and stay tuned for more photos from my trip to paradise :)

Here is a little sneak peak of the piggy-cuteness for all of you who made it to the end of this post!
