How To Get Fit In 2016

Hi guys!

So, I'm sure most of you have made new years resolutions for 2016. Some of mine are to stop procrastinating and get things done immediately and to work really hard on this blog. 
Just like everyone else I also want to use the new year to really get fit and eat healthy. Every year, I set a fitness goal for myself. My biggest inspiration tend to be Australian girls on Instagram who are enjoying the warm summer in their bikinis over there while I am sitting in New York in my cozy sweater with temperatures below freezing. Of course it is pretty unrealistic to eventually end up having a toned body like they do but I think it pushes me in the right direction. 


Gyms around this time of year are filled with people who have the same goals but half of them will probably have stopped going by the beginning of February. Because let's face it... Gyms are boring. I always enjoyed going to the classes my gym offered but running on a tread mill for 45 minutes? No way!
Since I'm in New York for only a limited amount of time I didn't want to sign up for any gym or studio contract. I enjoy just dropping into different classes at different studios. A few months ago I talked to this girl who sat next to me on my bus ride home from Boston and she told me about ClassPass





It is a monthly subscription for an unlimited amount of classes in studios around town which you can cancel at any time. On the app you can simply search for the workout you want to do and sign up for a class at a studio around you. It is seriously the best thing and a great way to meet new people and get toned without being bored of doing the same thing over and over. I usually go to Yoga, Pilates and Barre classes but they also offer spinning, boxing, rowing and pretty much anything else. I have been going to different classes for about 2 months now and I will soon write a post about some of my favorite studios so far!




For me, having the option to go to whatever class I want to is super motivating especially when you go with a friend. I sometimes go to Pilates classes before work with one of my co-workers. Who would've thought I'd ever do that in my life? :D
As far as I know ClassPass is in most major cities in the US and also in London. If they have it where you live you should totally try it out and tell me how you like it!
I have to say, the only setback is that you can only go to the same studio/studio chain 3 times each cycle (=30 days). This is not really a problem for me though since there are SO many studios here in New York.
